THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 24 December 2008
Just as Arjuna had meticulous focus only on the bird's eye as instructed by his preceptor Dronacharya, so be our mind with unflinching attention on Mahamantra and Mahamantra alone!.
--- HIS HOLINESS SRI SRI MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 23 December 2008
If your mind does not rest in the Self, you will be restless.
--His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 15 December 2008
A fire-lantern not only illuminates but also provides us heat, though unintended. A gas stove provides us light in addition to the heat that we intended to get out of it. Likewise, Namakirtan performed with worldly benefits in mind also leads us to salvation and Namakirtan performed with the intention of earning Salvation also brings in worldly comforts.
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 13 December 2008
Compromise anything for the world. Compromise nothing for God
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 12 December 2008
To control the breath, mind and senses is Vedanta.
To turn all the senses in the service of God or Guru is Bhakti"
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 11 December 2008
A solitary rose or a jasmine flower smells great, no doubt. But it can never match the sweet fragrance of a bouquet full of them. Likewise, chanting Nama individually is great, but more radiant are the vibes generated by chanting as a group
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 10 December 2008
Born in a 'Karagraha' (prison),
Sri Krishna entered the 'Garbagraha' (the sanctum)
just for the sake of 'Anugraha' (showering His grace on us).
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 08 December 2008
The very purpose of performing rites and rituals is to attain chitta shuddhi, i.e, purity of thought. If these karmas are performed in an incorrect manner with a lot of compromise, for self-interest and pomp, with pride and hypocrisy, not only will it result in further impurity, but will also prove detrimental.
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 05 December 2008
One's mere presence near the flower will suffice to get its fragrance. Likewise, merely remaining in the Sadhu's presence is enough to feel the divinity.
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 04 December 2008
An ordinary person bends towards the mass, but the extraordinary person bends the mass towards himself.
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 03 December 2008
God created men without bias, God created the world without bias, But men created God with bias.
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

If man is Humble and Adheres to His Guru's word always, he becomes a maHAn
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 01 December 2008
If you wish for eternal silence ('nishabda') of your mind, you have to produce a sound ('shabdha') - and that sound is that of the Mahamantra.
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 27 November 2008
It does not matter how many square feet make up the area of your home. What really matters is how many Sadhus have been fed there!
-- His Holiness Sri sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 26 November 2008
Our head contains the thousand petal lotus called 'SahasrAra'.
When we prostrate to the Lord or our Guru by placing our head at His feet, we offer this precious lotus to His feet.
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidahra Swamiji

Make your life perfect by not doing things that you do not like in others
-- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 24 November 2008
Pure bliss and consciousness is God. He is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient.
- Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 23 November 2008
Just as we take stock of our gains and losses, our own pluses and minuses would be measured at the end of the lives. By constantly remembering this, we will ensure that everything that we think, say or do will be a befitting offering to the Lord.
-- SRI SRI MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 21 November 2008
When a child is frightened, it tries struggles to get rid of the fear. When it runs to the mother and embraces her tight, it not only gets rid of the fear but also experiences the joy and comfort in the warm embrace of the mother.
Likewise, when the spiritual aspirant experiences the fear of ‘samsara’ (the material world), the moment he runs and embraces the Feet of Krishna, not only does his fear disappear, he also experiences the eternal bliss of communion with the Divine.
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 20 November 2008
The company of your Guru is a surgery to destroy your ego – your greatest enemy to Liberation. While you are enslaved by his boundless love, your ego is routed out. There is no escape from it; if not now, it has to be done in some future birth.
-H.H.Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 19 November 2008
If you count on luck, you risk being forsaken sooner or later.
If you count on talent, you are sure to go places.
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Murlaidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 18 November 2008
The mind would look at others and say " This life is a myth. The whole world as we see it is an illusion. This physical body is impermanent."
Should not the mind be saying this to itself in the first place?
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 14 November 2008
Everybody in this world searches for God, but God searches for a Bhakta.
-- H.H.Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 13 November 2008
When a source of light is placed before the mirror, the illumination is doubled. Likewise, when we chant Mahamantra before Lord Krishna, the effect is multifold.
-- H.H.Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 12 November 2008
Already we have various procedures, thoughts and techniques .
The need of the hour is a simple procedure to reach God realization without contradicting already established faith.
Undoubtedly, that is faith in the glory of His Eternal Name!
- H.H.Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 10 November 2008
It is the willpower and the vision, aroused by the japa that ‘transform’ the difficult circumstances and obstacles into minor ones in a miraculous manner.
-- SRI SRI MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 07 November 2008
If you desire to play, play with the Self ('Aatma'). If you play with your senses, you are a senseless man!
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 06 November 2008
If we follow the mantra 'ADJUST, ADAPT AND ACCOMMODATE' the world would be a better place to live in.
Rather than pray for things that we like, we should pray for maturity of mind to like what has been given.
- H.H.Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 05 November 2008
When we speak of death, it is only to the physical body. Death of the mind is liberation!
-– SRI SRI MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 03 November 2008
In life, when we encounter misery, instead of wailing, if we cry out the name of the Lord, irrespective of the condition and situation, He comes down to help us.
-- SRI SRI MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GURUJI!!!
If you want to realize the greatness of a Mahatma
- Do not seek money or favors from Him
- Do not even seek his attention or importance, knowledge, Siddhi (special powers) or Mukti (liberation) from Him
- Do not try and analyze Him by your intellect
- Do not comment His actions, whether they seem good to your eyes or not
- Obey whatever He says, even though at times it may seem foolish
- Travel wherever He goes, for nothing in return
- Be with Him always
By being with Him and traveling with Him, you will get into ‘Sanchara Samadhi’ which slowly leads you into ‘Sahaja Samadhi’
-- His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
Nama chanting will ultimately take you to the same goal that Vedanta vichhara or Yoga or 'Karmanushtana' takes one to.
Through Nama one can attain the highest state.
The Azhwars, the Nayanmars, Thiagaraja Swami, Panduranga Bhaktas, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu have all shown that one CAN attain liberation through mere chanting of Nama.
Even today we find Sadhus who have attained the highest state through mere chanting of Nãma.
This is the glory of 'Nama Sankirtana' -- An absolutely easy, simple path.
-- H.H.Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
In order to light a lamp a wick is essential. But this alone does not suffice, since oil is also needed. If there is no oil in the lamp the wick will be wholly burnt out. The light will also die out. It is the oil poured into the lamp that protects the wick from burning out. It is only the oil that also helps the lamp burn continuously.
Likewise, if a man does not enjoy the Grace of the Guru his 'prãrabdha' (destiny) will trouble him to the core. This is similar to the wick in a lamp that is bereft of oil. Here it is the Grace of the Guru that is akin to the oil poured into the lamp. 'Prãrabdha' shudders at the prospect of even approaching a 'jivã' who enjoys the Grace of the Guru.
When the lamp contains oil, the wick is protected from burning out even while the lamp is alight. Similarly, 'Prãrabdha' in the life of a 'jivã' does not trouble him who enjoys Guru's Grace.
